Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) is an eye condition affecting premature babies, where abnormal blood vessel growth in the retina can lead to vision loss or blindness if not detected and treated early. CRADLE ROP is a comprehensive screening initiative by Chaithanya Eye Hospital & Research Institute, supported by the Chaithanya Sight Foundation, using advanced retinal imaging and digital technology to provide early ROP screening and care across NICUs, including remote regions.

The Ocular prosthetic clinic at chaithanya is one of its kind facility equipped with state of art facilities & know-how needed in the preparation of different types of ocular prosthesis & their implantation.

What is Ocular prosthesis.?

Ocular prosthesis is an artificial eye used to restore the appearance of patients who have lost an eye due to trauma, surgery, cancer, or congenital conditions. By improving facial aesthetics, it helps reduce social stigma and restores the patient's confidence and quality of life.

Ocular Microbiology Lab

SERVICES PROVIDED AT CHAITHANYA OCULAR MICROBIOLOGY DEPARTMENT

Direct microscopy,bacterial,fungal and mycobacterial culture along with antimicrobial sensitivity testing is done routinely from all types of ophthalmic samples such as swabs,scrapings and fluids.

In the near future our molecular diagnostic lab will be coming up with PAN – bacterial and PAN fungal PCR with a battery of other molecular diagnostic cards that will be covering the various types of eye infections
